  1. ~Games Under A Tenner.

  3. Over the years there have been a huge number of games released
  4. on the PC.  Many have become classics never to be seen again,
  5. others are re-released for all who missed them to have a 2nd
  6. chance of buying.  When the games are re-released they usually
  7. hold a low price, normally under a budget label.... I have in
  8. passed issues brought to you brief lists and info on some of
  9. these games, and I'm gonna do the same again this issue..
  10.  
  11. All of the mentioned games in this article can be obtained direct
  12. from Cheet Sheets at the stated price (alongside the game title).

  23. ~Electronic Arts Classic Range (CD-ROM only - 9.99).

  26. Complete Ultima 7 - Probably one of the best RPG game to appear on
  27.                     any format, this pack, contains all the episodes
  28.                     in the VII series.
  29.

  31. FIFA Soccer - The best soccer game to appear on the PC with maybe 
  32.               only the recent Actua Soccer release being a good
  33.               competitor.  Arcadey style rather than managerial.
  34.  
  35.  
  36. Labryinth - Such a classic, not even I've seen this one !!!  Must be
  37.             good if EA have decided to re-release it amongst such a
  38.             great collection !!

  40.  
  41. Little Big Adventure - An excellent game, which will keep even the
  42.                        best of adventurers puzzling on for hours. 
  43.                        Only about 18 months old but no game of this
  44.                        kind has been released since that will touch
  45.                        it....  Great graphics, sounds, and excellent
  46.                        gameplay, ranging from hard to even harder.
  47.                        A classic that must be an addition to 
  48.                        everybodies game collection.

  51. Magic Carpet Plus - Well another game that broke new barriers, an
  52.                     alternative shoot-em up with a lot of skill and
  53.                     strategy needed to fullfill your goal.

  56. Michael Jordan In Flight - Basketball games haven't been much success 
  57.                            on the PC in the UK, but when released (as 
  58.                            with most EA titles), this game broke new 
  59.                            barriers.  Great graphics mixed with fast 
  60.                            and furious gameplay.

  63. NHL 95 - Another sport very popular in the US, but not so much over
  64.          here, released as a game...  This effort is probably the
  65.          best there is on a PC (excepting the 96 release of course),
  66.          but still the extremely fast action has yet to be totally
  67.          put into action on both the PC and any other format, but
  68.          a great game other than the slightly slowed down gameplay
  69.          from the real thing.

  72. Noctropolis - EA haven't released many graphic adventures in the 
  73.               past, probably due to the mass market already 
  74.               available.  This though is a good attempt and for a 
  75.               tenner well worth the purchase by any keen adventurer.

  78. PGA 486 - What can I say, the best golfing game on the PC, till 
  79.           PGA 96 came along......   Links was a strong contender for
  80.           years but in my mind this game with it's excellent graphics
  81.           and near to real graphics takes the top spot.   If your
  82.           looking for a cheap alternative to PGA 96 (34.99), then 
  83.           this is the one for you....

  86. Populous 2 & Powermonger - Two of the best strategy GOD games ever to
  87.                            be written for ANY format.  A little dated
  88.                            but you can gain months of play and 
  89.                            plenty of challenges.  The only thing 
  90.                            these games lack is the FMV's that aren't
  91.                            even needed.....

  94. Privateer - Similar to X-Wing, strategic style shoot-em up.  At the
  95.             time of release probably the only game to give Wing
  96.             Commander II a battle.

  99. Seal Team - Strategy game in a similar style to the more recent
  100.             Command & Conquer, XCOM, and Warcraft games...  US
  101.             Navy Seals need to be guided through over 80 missions,
  102.             of pure battling in a 3D Vietnam world.

  105. Shadowcaster - If you liked Ultima Underworlds II and want a 
  106.                challenge then this RPG (with a few differences to
  107.                the usual run of the mill RPG), is the game for you.
  108.                A game for the player who likes a game that will 
  109.                keep them busy for months !!!

  112. Space Hulk - This is an intelligent mans DOOM.  This is a mixture of
  113.              Aliens and DOOM with a load of strategy thrown in.  You
  114.              need to guide your squad of armoured guys, through an
  115.              alien ridden number of levels.  Not so much blast
  116.              everything but more of take the right route for an
  117.              easy way out....  Great game of it's time....

  120. SSN Sea Wolf - Submarine simulator, again probably the best to 
  121.                appear on the PC (Subwar 2050, the only other coming
  122.                close).

  125. Strike Commander Plus - What can I say about this game ?  It was
  126.                         released and everybody was shocked by it's
  127.                         excellent gameplay.  A modern day flight sim
  128.                         with a WAR in progress, you take on all !!
  129.                         This enhanced version includes the extra
  130.                         missions and updated game.

  133. Syndicate Plus - Bullfrog have released a number of great games over
  134.                  the years and this is probably the best of them in
  135.                  the strategy/blast everything department.  One of
  136.                  the first Bullfrog PC titles, and still a great
  137.                  game by todays standards.  You have to guide your
  138.                  squad of fully trained men though a number of
  139.                  tough missions.  With it's excellent 3D hi-res 
  140.                  graphics and great gameplay, a classic for anybody's
  141.                  collection....  It's sequel Syndicate Wars due out
  142.                  this year, with all the originals ideas put together
  143.                  with 96 style graphics, sound (and maybe spoiled by
  144.                  too much FMV ???)....

  147. System Shock Plus - Very much a futuristic style Doom but with a more
  148.                     strategic meaning to the game.  A huge area of
  149.                     play sees you going from level to level making
  150.                     your escape possible.  As with all EA titles,
  151.                     great graphics and guaranteed brill gameplay.

  154. Theme Park - We've seen Maxis in the past release a number of Sim 
  155.              games (namely Sim City, Sim Tower, Sim Ant etc..), but
  156.              EA went one better with Bullfrogs excellent SIM game
  157.              based on the making and running of a Theme Park.  An
  158.              excellent idea, put into an excellent game that will
  159.              keep you busy for months....

  162. Ultima Underworlds I & II - Ultima has seen some of the best RPG
  163.                             games on the PC, and the Underworld   
  164.                             sub-series is just as good with more
  165.                             of a fantasy DOOM style to it's gameplay.
  166.                             A definite game for all ULTIMA fans
  167.                             looking for the same excellence in a game
  168.                             with a different feel.

  170. Wing Armada - With the success of Wing Commander came a sub-game
  171.               based around this excellent sim/shoot-em up.

  174. Wing Commander 2 - The first of this series broke all new barriers
  175.                    in the field of PC futuristic flight sim/shoot-em
  176.                    up games.  The 2nd episode stretch it a little
  177.                    further with improved graphics, and gameplay.
  178.                    (This was the game b4 FMV became the bulk of the
  179.                    package !!!!).....  Probably in the long run the
  180.                    same game as in WC3 & 4 without the multi-million
  181.                    budget of the FMV sequences !!!

  187. Probably the cheapest range of CD's currently on the market that hold
  188. some great classic games.  All CD's are priced at 4.99 each.
